On June 25, 2025, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong, while attending diplomatic events of the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Tianjin, paid a courtesy call on Secretary of the CPC Tianjin University Committee Yang Xianjin, held separate discussions with Executive Vice President Hu Wenping and representatives of Southeast Asian students currently studying at the university, and visited the School of International Education. The two sides exchanged views on promoting people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Southeast Asian countries.
