On the morning of October 11, 2025 local time, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council Li Qiang held talks with Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and Premier of the Cabinet Pak Thae Song at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang.
Li Qiang noted that not long ago, General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary Kim Jong Un held a meeting in Beijing and reached a series of important common understandings on deepening the development of the relations between the two parties and the two countries. China will, as always, firmly support the WPK in leading the people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to pursue a development path suited to its national conditions. China is ready to work with the DPRK to implement the common understandings reached by the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries, maintain close high-level exchanges, strengthen strategic communication, continuously consolidate political mutual trust, and advance the traditional friendship and cooperation between China and the DPRK to deliver more new outcomes.
Li Qiang pointed out that both China and the DPRK are striving to advance the cause of socialist development. China is ready to work with the DPRK to tap the potential for practical cooperation and add more impetus to their respective development. The people of China and the DPRK share a profound and special friendship, and both sides should strengthen exchanges and mutual visits at all levels in such fields as youth, culture, education, arts and sports, and continuously deepen the friendly feelings between the people. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteers entering the DPRK to fight in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. China is ready to work with the DPRK to hold commemorative events. At a time when the international landscape is undergoing complex and intertwined changes, both sides should enhance unity and cooperation, safeguard their legitimate rights and interests, and uphold international fairness and justice.
Pak Thae Song said that the historic meeting between General Secretary Kim Jong Un and General Secretary Xi Jinping in Beijing not long ago has provided strategic guidance and injected strong impetus into the development of DPRK-China relations. The WPK, government and people of the DPRK hold sincere and friendly feelings towards China. It is the unwavering position of the WPK and the government of the DPRK to consolidate and develop the unbreakable DPRK-China relations. The DPRK is willing to work with China to implement the important common understandings reached by the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries, strengthen exchanges on governance experience, expand friendly exchanges, deepen cooperation in various fields, and work closely together on the path of realizing the socialist cause, so as to constantly open up a new chapter in the friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and China. On the morning of October 10 local time, Li Qiang, accompanied by Pak Thae Song, visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun to pay his respects to the remains of late DPRK leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
