On January 14, 2026, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong met with Ambassador of Mongolia to China Nyamaa Enkhbold. The two sides had a friendly and in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern.

Liu Jinsong stated that in September last year, President Xi Jinping met with President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, who came to China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit and the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, steering the course for bilateral relations and injecting new momentum. In the new year, Chinese working groups are willing to make efforts with Mongolian counterparts to implement the important common understandings reached by the leaders, consolidate strategic mutual trust, strengthen practical cooperation, support each other's core interests, and bring the China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights.

Nyamaa Enkhbold stated that Mongolia and China are important close neighbors to each other, and developing friendly relations with China is a priority in Mongolia's foreign policy. Mongolia firmly supports the one-China principle. Noting that this year marks the Year of the Horse for both Mongolia and China, he expressed the belief that with the joint efforts of both sides, Mongolia-China relations will achieve immediate success, like a galloping horse, and gain greater development and achievements.
