On November 25, 2021, External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping met with Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Denisov. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on issues such as China-Russia relations and global counter-terrorism cooperation.

Cheng Guoping said that the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination at a high level is a long-term strategic choice made by both sides. China is ready to work with Russia to advance steadily along the general direction of bilateral relations set by the two heads of state and keep enriching and expanding the strategic substance of China-Russia relations. The world has now entered a period of turbulence and change. Facing the dire global counter-terrorism situation, China and Russia need to further enhance policy communication on counter-terrorism and security, carry out closer coordination and cooperation within multilateral frameworks, and steer the global counter-terrorism cooperation in the right direction.

Denisov said that Russia-China relations are at the highest level in history. The two heads of state highly value and have attentively planned the development of bilateral relations. Russia is ready to work with China to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and further elevate bilateral cooperation in various fields. Russia shares a similar stance on global counter-terrorism with China and is willing to enhance coordination and cooperation to jointly safeguard international and regional peace and tranquility.
