On December 30, 2021, the "No. 7A Salon" held a briefing on China-Africa relations at Beijing International Club. Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Wu Peng exchanged views with foreign correspondents on implementing the outcomes of the Eighth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and promoting high-quality development of China-Africa cooperation. Correspondents stationed in Beijing from the Associated Press, Reuters, Bloomberg and other media attended the briefing on site, and journalists from mainstream media in African countries attended the event online.

Wu Peng introduced the basic information, major significance and main outcomes of the FOCAC Ministerial Meeting, stressing that China will take concrete measures to fully implement "nine programs" for China-Africa cooperation announced by President Xi Jinping, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Africa, and help Africa's self-driven development. Wu Peng also answered questions on China-Africa cooperation in the fields such as vaccines, poverty reduction and agricultural development, investment and financing, infrastructure, digital innovation, green development and peace and security.
