On July 7, 2022, Assistant Foreign Minister Hua Chunying, upon invitation, attended the reception marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of Egypt held by the Egyptian Embassy in China, and held friendly exchanges with Egyptian Ambassador to China Mohamed Elbadri.

Hua Chunying extended warm congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of Egypt, saying that Egypt is the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic ties with the People's Republic of China. The two sides have always treated each other amicably, understood each other and supported each other. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, the China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership has achieved rapid development. The current international situation is undergoing profound and complex changes. China and Egypt, as ancient civilizations and major developing countries, share similar philosophies and compatible strategies. China stands ready to work with Egypt to push for greater development of the China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership.

Elbadri said, Egypt and China enjoy a profound traditional friendship and the two sides have firmly supported each other on issues concerning each other's core interests. He thanked China for providing important and strong support for Egypt's development. He believes that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China will surely reach new heights.
