Special Representative Qiu Xiaoqi of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Visits Peru

On November 14, 2022, Special Representative Qiu Xiaoqi of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs visited Peru, and met respectively with President Pedro Castillo and Foreign Minister Cesar Landa. Chinese Ambassador to Peru Song Yang was present at relevant events.

Special Representative Qiu Xiaoqi presented the historical significance, far-reaching influence and main guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He exchanged views with Peruvian side on consolidating political mutual trust, deepening practical cooperation and enhancing people-to-people exchanges. President Pedro Castillo and Foreign Minister Landa extended warm congratulations on the success of the 20th CPC National Congress and the re-election of Comrade Xi Jinping as General Secretary of the CPC. They highly praised the traditional friendship between Peru and China, and reiterated Peru’s commitment to the one-China principle. They expressed that Peru is willing to further increase high-level exchanges with China, share governance experience, promote pragmatic cooperation in various fields, and constantly boost the comprehensive strategic partnership between Peru and China to new levels.
