On June 14 Beijing time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang had a phone call with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the latter's request.

Qin Gang pointed out that since the beginning of this year, China-US relations have encountered new difficulties and challenges, and it is very clear who is to blame. China has always viewed and handled China-US relations in accordance with the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation proposed by President Xi Jinping.

Qin Gang made clear China's solemn position on the Taiwan question and China's other core concerns. He stressed that the United States should respect China’s concerns, stop interfering in China's internal affairs, and stop undermining China's sovereignty, security, and development interests in the name of competition. He expressed the hope that the United States will take concrete actions to implement the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state at the Bali meeting and the relevant commitments made by the US, and work with China to effectively manage differences, promote exchanges and cooperation, stabilize the relationship from further deterioration, and bring it back to the track of sound and stable development.
