On December 19, 2024, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a group meeting with diplomatic envoys of Arab states to China in Beijing.

Wang Yi said that China and Arab states are good friends and good partners who share the same interests and work together for development. China has always placed its relations with Arab states at an important position in its foreign relations. No matter how the international situation changes, China's original aspiration, direction, and confidence in strengthening cooperation with Arab states will remain unchanged. Under the joint leadership of President Xi Jinping and the leaders of Arab states, the China-Arab relationship is at its best in history. The two sides have established a summit platform for head-of-state diplomacy, lifting strategic cooperation to a new level. At the first China-Arab States Summit in 2022, both sides unanimously agreed to build a China-Arab community with a shared future in the new era and defined the goals of their joint efforts. The two sides firmly support each other in safeguarding core interests, and have taken China-Arab strategic mutual trust to a new level. Arab states firmly support China's just positions on the Taiwan question and issues related to Xinjiang, and China has consistently supported Arab states in defending their sovereignty, independence and national dignity. The two sides have advanced high-quality Belt and Road cooperation with pioneering progress, driving China-Arab practical cooperation to a new level. The Belt and Road Initiative has achieved full participation in the Arab world, with comprehensive development in China-Arab cooperation across various fields, benefiting nearly 2 billion people on both sides. Together, the two sides have embarked on a path of innovative, open, green and inclusive development. China is ready to work with Arab states to continue the good momentum of comprehensive progress in China-Arab cooperation, further unleash the vitality of China-Arab relations, gather strong forces for peace and development, advance modernization together, and jointly build a high-level community with a shared future.

Wang Yi pointed out that the Middle East belongs to the people of the Middle East. The Middle East should not continue to be reduced to a wrestling ground for great power rivalry or a victim of geopolitical conflicts. The international community should respect the legitimate concerns, independent choices and historical and cultural traditions of countries in the region, and support regional countries to live in harmony and achieve long-term peace and stability. He called for a comprehensive ceasefire in and a permanent withdrawal of troops from Gaza as soon as possible, and a comprehensive, just and lasting settlement of the Palestinian question on the basis of the two-State solution. Lebanon's sovereignty, security and territorial integrity must be preserved. All parties in Syria should proceed from the long-term interests of the country and people and start an open and inclusive political settlement process. In particular, efforts must be made to prevent the resurgence of terrorism amid the chaos. China will continue to support Arab states in strengthening strategic independence, achieving unity and self-reliance, and keeping their future firmly in their own hands, and will continue to make efforts for peace and stability in the Middle East.

The diplomatic envoys of Arab states to China said that Arab states and China enjoy traditional friendship, and cooperation in various fields has made significant progress. China is a trusted partner and friend of Arab states, and Arab states firmly support the one-China principle and speak highly of China's long-term support and assistance. Hailing the first Arab States-China Summit which elevated bilateral relations to a new level, the diplomatic envoys look forward to working with China to make good preparations for the second summit and push for more outcomes in bilateral cooperation. China has always been committed to peace and development, and the Belt and Road Initiative and the three global initiatives have benefited the world. The Arab side highly appreciates China's fair stance on supporting the just cause of the Palestinian people and its positive contributions to peace and stability in the Middle East.
