Wang Yi Meets with Director-General of Malaysia's National Security Council Raja Dato' Nushirwan bin Zainal Abidin

On November 25, 2025, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi met in Beijing with Director-General of Malaysia's National Security Council Raja Dato' Nushirwan bin Zainal Abidin, who is in China to attend the Second Bilateral Dialogue Between China and Malaysia on the Management of Maritime Issues in the South China Sea.

Wang Yi noted that in April this year, President Xi Jinping paid a successful state visit to Malaysia, during which both sides established a new positioning of a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future. China is ready to work with Malaysia, guided by the important common understandings between the leaders of the two countries, to strengthen the synergy of development strategies, deepen political and security cooperation, push for more outcomes in practical cooperation, and continuously elevate strategic cooperation between China and Malaysia.

Wang Yi stated that China is ready to synergize the 15th Five-Year Plan with the Thirteenth Malaysia Plan, deepen the implementation of the Belt and Road cooperation, build key projects such as the East Coast Rail Link and the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" with high quality, tap the potential for cooperation in cutting-edge fields such as the digital economy, artificial intelligence and new energy, and work together to create a regional pacesetter for cooperation on new quality productive forces. The two sides should give full play to the role of the dialogue platform for maritime issues, promote substantive and in-depth cooperation, manage and handle differences properly, and jointly voice a new narrative of peace, stability, and win-win cooperation in the South China Sea. Both sides should also strengthen solidarity and coordination, jointly oppose all forms of unilateralism and protectionism, uphold the multilateral trading system, and inject more stability into the world economy.

Wang Yi stated that China highly appreciates Malaysia's long-term commitment to the one-China principle, and its clear statement of not supporting any "Taiwan independence" remarks and actions. The two sides should support each other in safeguarding core interests, and work together to defend international fairness and justice, safeguard the outcomes of the victory of World War II, and not allow anyone to reverse the course of history.

Raja Dato' Nushirwan bin Zainal Abidin said that Malaysia cherishes the friendship between the two countries. Malaysia-China relations have intertwined interests, and developing the strategic cooperative relationship between the two countries is in the fundamental interests of the two peoples and sets an example of friendly coexistence among neighboring countries. Malaysia adheres to the one-China policy. Noting that the recent dialogue on maritime issues between Malaysia and China has achieved positive results, he said that Malaysia is willing to work with China to promote the implementation of the consensus, including joint research, and jointly maintain maritime peace and stability. Malaysia will actively advance key cooperation projects between the two countries and deepen practical cooperation in various fields. Malaysia and China share similar visions and positions on major international and regional issues, and the two sides should further enhance multilateral coordination and jointly safeguard peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region.
