King Abdullah II of Jordan Meets with Wang Yi

On December 15, 2025 local time, King Abdullah II of Jordan met with Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Amman.

King Abdullah II said that, having visited China multiple times since his youth, he holds a deep affection for the country and cherishes his friendship with President Xi Jinping. Jordan attaches great importance to developing relations with China and looks forward to working with China to further strengthen high-level exchanges, advance practical cooperation, enhance communication and coordination in international and regional affairs, and jointly respond to the current turbulent global landscape, particularly the Middle East turmoil. Jordan actively supports the holding of the second China-Arab States Summit in China next year, and is willing to make every effort in the preparatory work to ensure that the summit becomes a new opportunity for deepening strong Arab-China relations.

Wang Yi stated that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, bilateral relations have maintained sound and stable development. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Jordan strategic partnership. China is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with Jordan, implement the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state, and plan well for the development of the China-Jordan strategic partnership in the next decade. King Abdullah II is welcome to visit China for the second China-Arab States Summit to jointly elevate China-Arab cooperation to new a level. Under the leadership of King Abdullah II, Jordan, as a stabilizing force in the region, has upheld principles and justice, and played a unique and positive role in advancing regional peace. China, a responsible major country, always upholds the principle of equality among all countries regardless of size, adheres to non-interference in other countries' internal affairs, supports all countries in pursuing development paths suited to their national conditions, and never imposes its will on others. China will always stand with the Global South and with small and medium-sized countries, firmly safeguarding the common interests of developing countries. China is ready to remain Jordan's most reliable strategic partner in its development and revitalization process.

The two sides also had an in-depth exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East.
