At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Ayman Safadi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi visited Jordan from December 14 to 15, 2025.
Both sides emphasized that leaders of the two countries are willing to strengthen cooperation to actively benefit the friendly peoples of both countries. The two sides spoke highly of bilateral cooperation across various fields. The two sides expressed readiness to continue dialogue and coordination, and expand cooperation, so as to achieve the goals of both countries' development policies.
The two sides discussed deepening bilateral cooperation in traditional areas such as economy and trade, infrastructure, energy, defense, transportation, and the judiciary sector, exploring potential for cooperation in new areas including scientific and technological innovation, telecommunication technology, digital economy, artificial intelligence, and green energy, and expanding cooperation and communication in culture, tourism, journalism, education and student exchanges, and think tanks. The two sides also discussed measures to facilitate personnel exchanges between the two countries.
The Jordanian side reiterated its position of upholding the one-China policy, emphasizing that the government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China, and that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory.
Both sides stressed the importance of carrying out people-to-people exchanges through culture and art, and of strengthening cooperation between legislative bodies.
Both sides noted the effective cooperation the two countries have conducted in multilateral diplomatic occasions and emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen coordination and collaboration. Jordan appreciates the series of major initiatives and proposals put forward by President Xi Jinping.
Both sides stressed the need to effectively implement the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed by the two countries to serve their common interests and achieve shared goals.
The two sides discussed the regional situation, and the developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Both sides emphasized the need to achieve a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and to ensure urgent, immediate, and sustainable access to aid to address the humanitarian crisis. Both sides stressed that the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement should be combined with genuine political efforts aimed at establishing a sovereign and independent State of Palestine based on the June 4, 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.
Jordan highly appreciates President Xi Jinping's initiatives and proposals for resolving the Palestinian question as well as his announcement of a new batch of aid to Palestine. China appreciates the efforts made by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to achieve regional security and stability, as well as the tremendous efforts made for humanitarian aid in Gaza, and affirms the importance of the historic custodianship of the Hashemite family over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Both sides emphasized that the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum has served as a comprehensive platform for active interaction between China and Arab countries, with a growing significance over the years. Jordan supports China in hosting the second China-Arab States Summit in 2026.
