Q: Former Chairman of the board of the "American Institute in Taiwan" Richard Bush was cited as saying in a seminar that the PRC that rules the mainland cannot deny the fact that the "ROC" has continued to exist since it was established in 1912, and the "two Chinas" concept proposed by the US decades ago could be applied in cross-straits relations, if Beijing would accept it. How do you comment?
A: There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is part of China's territory. This is the Chinese Government's clear and consistent position on the Taiwan question as well as a fact universally recognized by the international community, including the US. We firmly disapprove of the words and deeds of some US people that disregard objective facts and breach the one China principle.
