Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hong Lei's Remarks on "World Uyghur Congress" Members' Visit to the Yasukuni Shrine
Updated: May 16, 2012 15:59

Q: It is reported that some members of the "World Uyghur Congress" visited the Yasukuni Shrine on May 14. How does China comment?

A: The Yasukuni Shrine is a symbol of the history of the Japanese militarist invasion. The anti-China separatists of the "World Uyghur Congress" have been colluding with Japanese right-wing forces, which fully exposes their political nature of splitting their motherland and undermining China-Japan relations. Their clumsy acts will surely be spurned by Chinese people in and out of China including ethnic Uygur compatriots.
