Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang's Remarks on UK Adding ETIM to List of "Proscribed Terrorist Organizations"
Updated: July 22, 2016 09:48

Q: The UK Parliament reviewed and approved the addition of the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) to the list of "proscribed terrorist organizations". What's your comment?

A: Terrorism is a public enemy faced by mankind. And anti-terrorism campaign knows no borders. The ETIM is a terrorist group widely recognized by the world. We commend the UK government's designation of the ETIM as a "proscribed terrorist organization" and prohibition of any person or entity on participating in or supporting it, and welcome moves by the international community including the UK to see through the terrorist nature of and real danger posed by the ETIM. We are willing to work with relevant parties including the UK to enhance pragmatic cooperation on anti-terrorism, crack down on international terrorist forces and jointly uphold international and regional peace and stability and the life and property safety of our people.
