On May 14, 2024, Director-General Cai Wei of the Department of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs of the Foreign Ministry met with Ambassador of Türkiye to China Dr. İsmail Hakkı Musa at the latter's request. The two sides had an exchange of views on Latin American and Caribbean affairs as well as their respective relations with Latin American and Caribbean states.
