Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs Liu Yuxi Attends Gabon's National Day Reception

On August 16, 2024, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs Liu Yuxi, upon invitation, attended the reception of the 64th anniversary of the National Day held by the Gabonese Embassy in China and delivered a speech.

Liu Yuxi congratulated Gabon on the 64th anniversary of its National Day and said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Gabon 50 years ago, the two sides have always understood and supported each other and achieved remarkable results in cooperation in various fields. The recently convened Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee drew up a new blueprint for further deepening reform comprehensively and advancing Chinese modernization. He expressed the belief that China's high-quality development and high-standard opening-up will bring new opportunities for China-Africa and China-Gabon cooperation, and the upcoming Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) will inject new impetus into the development of China-Africa and China-Gabon relations.

Gabonese Ambassador to China Baudelaire Ndong Ella spoke highly of bilateral relations, saying that Gabon is willing to work with China to consolidate traditional friendship and looks forward to taking the new FOCAC Summit as an opportunity to jointly elevate bilateral relations to new heights and benefit the two peoples.
