Special Envoy Zhai Jun of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Meets with Vice President of Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces Committee of French Senate Hélène Conway-Mouret

On September 6, 2024, Special Envoy Zhai Jun of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue met with visiting Vice President of Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces Committee of French Senate Hélène Conway-Mouret at the latter's request. The two sides mainly had an exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East, and agreed that China and France should continue to maintain communication on regional affairs, and work together to promote an early ceasefire in Gaza and a comprehensive, just and lasting settlement of the Palestinian question at an early date.

Zhai Jun also introduced the development of China-Africa relations and the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), saying that China is ready to carry out third-party market cooperation with France in Africa and make positive contributions to promoting Africa's development. She extended warm congratulations on the success of the FOCAC Beijing Summit, and expressed the expectation to strengthen synergy with China and carry out more cooperation projects in Africa.
