On October 17, 2024, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on European Affairs Wu Hongbo visited Denmark and held talks with Under-Secretary for Foreign Policy of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Eva Marie Frida Barløse.
Wu said that China and Denmark enjoy traditional friendship. In recent years, bilateral relations have developed steadily and rapidly. Since the release of the Green Joint Work Program between China and Denmark, the two countries have made positive progress in cooperation in such fields as economy, trade and green transition. China is ready to strengthen high-level exchanges and deepen practical cooperation with Denmark on the basis of mutual respect and equal treatment, so as to push for new achievements in China-Denmark comprehensive strategic partnership. Wu expressed the hope that Denmark will play a greater role in promoting the sound and stable development of China-EU relations.
The Danish side said it attaches importance to developing relations with China and is willing to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with China, enhance mutual trust and promote cooperation in economy, trade, culture and multilateral areas. Denmark reiterated its firm adherence to the one-China policy and supports the EU and China in strengthening dialogue and cooperation and properly resolving trade differences.
The two sides also had an exchange of views on international and regional hotspot issues of common interest and concern.
During his stay in Denmark, Special Representative Wu Hongbo also held discussions and exchanges with responsible officials of the Confederation of Danish Industry.
