Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Xue Bing Attends Uganda's National Day Reception

On October 12, 2024, Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Xue Bing, upon invitation, attended and addressed the reception hosted by the Embassy of Uganda in China marking the 62nd anniversary of its country's National Day.

Xue Bing congratulated Uganda on the 62nd anniversary of its National Day, saying that the traditional friendship between China and Uganda transcends time and has been passed on from generation to generation, and the two countries show mutual respect and trust and pursue win-win cooperation. Last month, the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) was successfully held, drawing a new blueprint for China-Africa cooperation. China is ready to work with Uganda to take the implementation of the outcomes of the Summit as an opportunity to strengthen the synergy of development strategies, deepen and substantiate practical cooperation, continuously enrich the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries, and write a new chapter of China-Uganda and China-Africa cooperation towards modernization.

Ambassador of Uganda to China Oliver Wonekha spoke highly of bilateral relations, and expressed gratitude for the valuable support that China has given to Uganda in its development journey. She extended congratulations on the complete success of the FOCAC Beijing Summit, and said that Uganda is ready to work with China to actively promote the implementation of the outcomes of the summit and deepen traditional friendship and cooperation in various fields for the benefit of the two peoples.
