On October 16, 2024, Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li held a China-Germany political consultation at the vice-foreign ministerial level with State Secretary of the German Federal Foreign Office Thomas Bagger in Beijing.
Deng Li said, China and Germany are all-round strategic partners with close high-level exchanges and fruitful cooperation in various fields. He expressed the hope that the two sides will work together to deliver on the common understandings reached between the leaders of the two countries, consolidate and continue the sound development momentum of bilateral relations, carry forward the distinctive features of China-Germany cooperation for mutual benefit and win-win results, and jointly address global challenges.
Thomas Bagger said, Germany attaches great importance to developing relations with China. Germany is ready to work with China to strengthen exchanges at all levels, further tap the potential of bilateral cooperation in such fields as economy, trade, investment and climate protection, and intensify communication and coordination in international affairs, so as to inject new vitality into bilateral relations and push for greater development of Germany-China relations.
The two sides also had an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues.
