On November 13, 2024, Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li held a China-Latvia political consultation at the vice-foreign ministerial level with State Secretary of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andžejs Viļumsons in Beijing.
Noting that China regards Latvia as a cooperation partner, Deng Li said the Chinese side is ready to work with the Latvian side to consolidate the development momentum of bilateral relations, enhance political mutual trust, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and promote the stable and positive development of China-Latvia and China-Europe relations.
Andžejs Viļumsons said Latvia values its relations with China, firmly pursues the one-China policy, and looks forward to expanding practical cooperation in economy and trade and strengthening communication on international affairs with China.
The two sides also had an exchange of views on international and regional issues of mutual interest and concern.
