On February 10, 2025, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong summoned Chief Minister of the Embassy of Japan in China Yokochi Akira to lodge solemn representations and express grave concern and strong dissatisfaction over Japan's recent negative moves related to China during the recent Japan-U.S. leaders' meeting and in a joint Japan-U.S. statement.
