Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong Meets with Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun

On February 10, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong met with Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun.

Sun Weidong said that over the past year, China-Indonesia relations have maintained a strong development momentum. President Xi Jinping and President Prabowo Subianto met twice and affirmed the need to build a China-Indonesia community with a shared future with regional and global influence, upgraded the "four wheels" of China-Indonesia cooperation to "five pillars", which includes security cooperation, and reached important common understandings on joint maritime development, leading bilateral relations to a new level. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of China-Indonesia diplomatic relations and the 70th anniversary of the Bandung Conference. China is ready to work with Indonesia to take the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state as strategic guidance to deepen high-level political mutual trust, expand all-round strategic cooperation, ensure the success a series of celebrations for the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, jointly carry forward the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and the Bandung Spirit, strengthen coordination and cooperation on international and regional affairs, and promote deeper and more substantive progress in building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future.

Djauhari Oratmangun said that last year, President Prabowo Subianto paid two successful visits to China, which yielded fruitful results. Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the two countries have maintained close high-level exchanges, sustained growth in economic, trade and investment cooperation and ever-deepening cultural and people-to-people exchanges. The year 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the 80th anniversary of the founding of Indonesia, and the inaugural year of the new Indonesian government's administration. Indonesia is ready to take this opportunity to expand practical cooperation and personnel exchanges in various fields between the two countries and push bilateral relations to new levels. Djauhari Oratmangun thanked China for supporting Indonesia's participation in BRICS cooperation and said that Indonesia is willing to enhance multilateral cooperation with China to contribute to regional and world peace, cooperation and development.
