On April 21, 2025, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin and Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry of Oman Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy held strategic consultations between the Chinese and Omani Ministries of Foreign Affairs in Beijing.
Liu Bin said that the friendship between China and Oman has a long history. Over the 47 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral relations have maintained a good momentum of development. In particular, since the establishment of a strategic partnership, China-Oman political mutual trust has further strengthened, and fruitful results have been achieved in cooperation across various fields, bringing tangible benefits to the people of both countries. China appreciates Oman's firm commitment to the one-China principle and is ready to maintain close exchanges at all levels, strengthen the synergy of development strategies, deepen practical cooperation in energy, economy and trade, investment, science and technology, and other fields, expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and enhance communication and coordination in international and regional affairs, and promote greater development of the China-Oman strategic partnership.
Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy said that the Silk Road connects Oman and China, two ancient civilizations. The Omani side attaches great importance to the Oman-China strategic partnership and will continue to firmly abide by the one-China principle, deepen practical cooperation between the two countries, strengthen coordination and cooperation on international and regional issues, take bilateral relations to a higher level, and make unremitting efforts to safeguard regional peace and stability.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional hotspot issues of common interest and concern.
