On May 22, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong met with a delegation led by Chairperson Saratsanun Unnopporn of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of Thailand, and had friendly and candid exchanges of views on China-Thailand relations and issues of common interest and concern with members of various political parties.

Sun Weidong said that China and Thailand are close and friendly neighbors, and the much-told stories that "China and Thailand are as close as one family" are deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand as well as the "Golden Jubilee of China-Thailand Friendship". China is ready to work with Thailand, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, to enhance high-level exchanges, deepen all-round practical cooperation, organize celebrations for the establishment of diplomatic relations, strengthen multilateral coordination and cooperation, promote greater development of China-Thailand relations, and jointly safeguard regional peace, stability and prosperity. Sun Weidong expressed the hope that the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Thai House of Representatives will continue to play a positive role in fostering a consensus across all sectors of Thai society, across political parties and among the general public on building a promising China-Thailand community with a shared future.

Saratsanun Unnopporn said that Thailand and China have always supported each other and worked in solidarity, demonstrating the friendship featuring that "Thailand and China are as close as one family". Thailand admires China's rapid development and fast-evolving changes, and attaches great importance to developing its relations with China. Taking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity, Thailand is willing to deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation, promote friendship between the two peoples, and continuously bring Thailand-China relations to new heights.
