On May 27, 2025, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi met with the delegation of the Interparliamentary Commission of the Pacific Alliance.
Qiu stated that the Chinese side attaches great importance to developing its relationship with the Pacific Alliance and highly appreciates the firm commitment of the Pacific Alliance and its Interparliamentary Commission to the one-China principle. China will continue to promote cooperation with the Alliance in areas such as education, science and technology, and trade, and contribute to the building of a China-Latin America community with a shared future.
The delegation members extended congratulations on the successful holding of the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum and highly praised the positive role this meeting played in advancing overall China-Latin America cooperation and strengthening the Global South. The Pacific Alliance and its Interparliamentary Commission are willing to take this visit as an opportunity to further promote practical cooperation in various fields between China and Latin America, contributing to the development of China-Latin America relations.
