On May 28, 2025, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin, upon invitation, attended the Independence Day reception hosted by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in China.

Liu Bin congratulated Azerbaijan on its Independence Day and said that under the strategic planning and guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Ilham Aliyev, China-Azerbaijan relations have made two historic leaps within a year, reaching the highest level in history as a comprehensive strategic partnership. China is ready to work with Azerbaijan to follow through on the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state, promote more fruitful results in mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides, and continuously enrich the substance of bilateral relations.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to China Bunyad Huseynov said that the friendship between Azerbaijan and China has a time-honored history. President Ilham Aliyev's successful state visit to China has opened a new chapter for bilateral relations. Azerbaijan will continue to adhere to the one-China principle, actively participate in Belt and Road cooperation, and move bilateral relations forward for the greater benefit of both peoples.
