Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong Meets with Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister of Thailand Pansak Vinyaratn

On May 29, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong met with Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister of Thailand Pansak Vinyaratn, and they had an in-depth exchange of views on China-Thailand relations, regional cooperation, and issues of common interest and concern.

Sun Weidong stated that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand and the Golden Jubilee of China-Thailand Friendship. In the face of the current international situation characterized by intertwined changes and turmoil, China is ready to make joint efforts with Thailand to implement the important common understandings reached by the leaders of both countries, expand cooperation in various fields such as trade, digital economy, and new energy, enhance personnel exchanges, strengthen multilateral coordination and cooperation, and achieve common development and prosperity. China is committed to fostering an amicable, secure and prosperous neighborhood, upholding the principle of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness, and pursuing the vision of a shared future. China is ready to work with regional countries, including Thailand, to deepen collaboration within the frameworks of China-ASEAN and Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, jointly uphold the multilateral trading system, defend international fairness and justice, and inject more stability and positive energy into world peace, stability and development.

Pansak Vinyaratn stated that over the 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China, the two countries have always supported and trusted each other. Thailand's development is closely linked to China's opening up and development as well as the continuous deepening of Thailand-China cooperation. Thailand is willing to work with China to enhance strategic communication, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, expand cultural exchanges, and forge a new chapter in Thailand-China friendship. Thailand is also willing to work with China to uphold the multilateral trading system and safeguard the interests of developing countries.
