On May 30, 2025, Spokesperson and Director-General of the Department of Press, Communication and Public Diplomacy of the Foreign Ministry Mao Ning held the sixth China-Japan Foreign Ministry Spokespersons' Consultation with Foreign Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan Kitamura Toshihiro in Beijing.

The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on topics such as the communication between the press departments of the foreign ministries of China and Japan, as well as public diplomacy activities. Both sides believe that enhancing mutual understanding between the people of the two countries is of great significance for the healthy and stable development of China-Japan relations, and agree to maintain communication and exchanges and make positive efforts to improve and develop bilateral relations.
