From June 3 to 4, 2025, Special Envoy Zhai Jun of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue visited Egypt, where he met respectively with Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Chief of the President's Office Ahmed Mohammed Ali, Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights and International Social and Humanitarian Issues Khaled El-Bakly, and Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Ahmed Shaheen.
Zhai Jun stated that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Egypt relations have achieved leapfrog development, becoming a model of solidarity, cooperation, and mutual benefit between China and other developing countries. China is ready to work with Egypt to follow through on the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state, firmly support each other, and promote greater development in practical cooperation across various fields. China values the role Egypt plays in international and regional affairs and is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with Egypt to jointly uphold international fairness and justice.
The Egyptian side stated that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China is developing with strong momentum. Egypt firmly supports China in safeguarding its core interests, always abides by the one-China principle, and is willing to enhance high-level exchanges with China, deepen practical cooperation in various fields such as economy, trade and investment, and enhance coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs. Egypt highly appreciates China's long-standing just position on hotspot issues such as the question of Palestine, and is willing to work with China to jointly uphold multilateralism and make efforts to ease international and regional tensions.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional issues such as the Gaza conflict, Syria, Sudan, and the situation in the Red Sea.
