On June 17, 2025, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi met with Alternate President of the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) Parliament Carlos Nunez Salinas.

Qiu Xiaoqi spoke highly of Latin American and Caribbean Parliament's firm commitment to the one-China principle and its active role in promoting the development of China-LAC relations and advancing bilateral cooperation across various fields. Qiu said that China is ready to deepen its friendly relations with the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament, jointly advance the implementation of the outcomes of the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum, and contribute to building a China-LAC community with a shared future.

Carlos Nunez Salinas congratulated China on successfully hosting the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum, saying that the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament attaches great importance to developing relations with China and is willing to promote exchanges and dialogue between the Chinese and LAC legislative bodies based on mutual respect and mutual benefit, so as to provide solid political and legislative support for exchanges and cooperation between LAC and China across various fields and contribute to the steady and sustained development of LAC-China relations.
