On July 2, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu attended the reception celebrating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bolivia and delivered a speech.
Miao Deyu stated that over the 40 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China-Bolivia relations have stood the test of the changing international landscape and have gone through an extraordinary journey of development. These 40 years have been a period of weathering storms together and moving forward hand in hand, a time of treating each other as equals and achieving win-win cooperation, a period of mutual understanding and learning from each other, and also a time of unity and upholding fairness and justice. China is ready to work with Bolivia to continue the traditional friendship, deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, jointly deliver on the outcomes of the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum, and elevate the China-Bolivia strategic partnership to a new level.
Bolivian Ambassador to China Hugo José Siles Núñez del Prado stated that Bolivia and China have walked hand in hand for 40 years, and their friendship has grown stronger over time. The two countries have achieved fruitful cooperation in trade, infrastructure, aerospace, and other fields, injecting strong momentum into the development of Bolivia-China relations. Bolivia firmly abides by the one-China principle and is willing to work with China to continue strengthening mutual trust and cooperation, foster people-to-people bonds, and jointly create a bright future for bilateral relations.
