On July 23, 2025, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong met with Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Bolbongse Vangphaen and his delegation.

Liu Jinsong introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization and concepts such as "a community of life for man and nature" and "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", and shared China's experience in its victory in fighting smog to keep the sky blue and in its green development. Liu Jinsong quoted a Thai proverb, "Do not take the fire from home outside, and do not bring the fire from outside inside", emphasizing that regional countries should properly handle differences through dialogue and consultation, and unite and cooperate to meet challenges together.

Bolbongse Vangphaen spoke highly of the friendly relations between Thailand and China and the achievements of ASEAN-China cooperation, holding that China is the most valuable cooperative partner for ASEAN. Bolbongse Vangphaen introduced the "Clear Sky Strategy" initiated by Thailand and other countries, and expressed the hope to learn from China's successful experience in development and governance, and to deepen friendly cooperation between the two sides.
