On August 1, 2025, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi attended and addressed the reception hosted by the Embassy of Bolivia in China to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Bolivia's independence and the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bolivia.
Qiu Xiaoqi stated that over the 40 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the political mutual trust between China and Bolivia has become increasingly solid, and the cooperation has yielded fruitful results. China is ready to make joint efforts with Bolivia to continuously enrich the China-Bolivia strategic partnership to better benefit the people of both countries. China is also willing to work with Bolivia to jointly implement the five programs for building a China-LAC community with a shared future and expand overall cooperation between China and Latin American and the Caribbean (LAC) countries.
Ambassador of Bolivia to China Hugo José Siles Núñez del Prado highly praised the achievements in the development of Bolivia-China relations, reaffirmed Bolivia's firm commitment to the one-China principle, and emphasized that over the past 40 years, the friendship between Bolivia and China has flourished, with highlights in cooperation in trade, infrastructure, science and technology, aerospace, and other fields. Bolivia is willing to continue promoting practical cooperation in various fields between both sides and to advance the greater development of Bolivia-China relations.
