Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu Meets with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau

On September 25, 2025 local time, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau in New York. The two sides had a candid, in-depth, and constructive exchange of views on China-U.S. relations and international and regional issues of common interest and concern.

Ma Zhaoxu elaborated on China's principled position and pointed out that China and the United States should adhere to mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, deliver on the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state, and promote the stable, sound, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations. Ma Zhaoxu emphasized that the Taiwan question is entirely China's internal affair and concerns China's core interests. China urged the U.S. side to earnestly adhere to the one-China policy, honor its political commitments, and take concrete actions to safeguard peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.

The two sides agreed to maintain communication and dialogue, effectively manage differences, and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
