On October 24, 2025, Director-General of the Department of Arms Control of the Foreign Ministry Sun Xiaobo met with Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization Robert Floyd.

Sun Xiaobo emphasized that China supports the purposes and objectives of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) and is willing to work with the international community to steadily advance the preparatory process for the implementation of the CTBT.

Robert Floyd praised China for honoring its commitment to a moratorium on nuclear tests and actively advancing the certification of international monitoring stations, and expressed willingness to deepen practical cooperation with the Chinese side.

Sun Xiaobo and Robert Floyd jointly attended the Launching Ceremony of Certification of AS23 & AS22 held at the China Earthquake Networks Center. Robert Floyd also presented the certificate for the certification of the Kunming infrasound station to the Chinese side.
