Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Hu Changchun Meets with Diplomatic Envoys of Regional Countries in China

On November 20, 2025, Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Hu Changchun met with ambassadors to China and embassy representatives from countries in the Horn of Africa such as Eritrea, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, and Sudan.

Special Envoy Hu Changchun expressed appreciation and gratitude for the substantial efforts made by the embassies of various countries in China together with the Chinese side in implementing the Outlook on Peace and Development in the Horn of Africa, stating that safeguarding peace and stability in the Horn of Africa serves the fundamental interests of all countries. As a sincere friend and strategic partner of Africa, China is ready to uphold the principle of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith, and, together with countries in the region, play a constructive role in building a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Horn of Africa.

All parties extended their gratitude for China's significant contributions to promoting regional peace and development, and expressed their willingness to take the implementation of the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation as an opportunity to strengthen exchanges and cooperation within the framework of the Outlook with a focus on the three pillars of security, development and governance, and jointly promote the peaceful and stable development in the Horn of Africa.
