China and India Hold a New Round of Consultations between Officials of Foreign Ministries

On December 11, 2025, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong and Joint Secretary of the East Asia Division of the Ministry of External Affairs of India Sujit Ghosh held a new round of consultations between officials of the Chinese and Indian foreign ministries in Beijing.

The two sides affirmed the recent positive progress in China-India relations and expressed their commitment to fully implementing the important common understandings reached between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during their meeting in Tianjin. The two sides pledged to promote bilateral exchanges, resume institutional dialogue, properly handle differences and sensitive issues, strengthen communication and coordination in multilateral mechanisms and international and regional affairs, uphold multilateralism, advocate for a multipolar world, safeguard the common interests of the Global South, and expand the positive aspects of bilateral relations. Both sides positively evaluated the timeliness, efficiency, and good atmosphere of this round of consultations, with substantial consensus reached.
