On January 23, 2026, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong held China-Russia consultations on Asia-Pacific affairs with Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Rudenko Andrey Yurevich in Beijing. The two sides had extensive and in-depth exchanges of views on the situation in the Asia-Pacific region and issues of mutual concern, and agreed that under the current circumstances, the two sides should further deepen communication and consultation on regional affairs and strengthen strategic coordination in the Asia-Pacific region.
