On February 10, 2026, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin met with Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Nurlan Yermekbayev.

Liu Bin stated that, with the joint efforts of the member states and the Secretariat, the Tianjin Summit was a complete success. Mutual trust among SCO member states has been further deepened, pragmatic cooperation has made new progress, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges have gained new substance. China is ready to work with all parties to implement the important common understandings reached by the leaders, support Kyrgyzstan, the rotating presidency, in hosting this year's summit, promote the Shanghai Spirit, uphold unity and cooperation, act on the Global Governance Initiative, make the SCO an example of a new-type international relations, contribute to building a closer SCO community with a shared future, and benefit the people in the region.

Nurlan Yermekbayev highly praised China's contributions to the development of the SCO and the Secretariat. He expressed willingness to actively assist the member states in implementing the outcomes of the Tianjin Summit, successfully organize the commemorative activities for the 25th anniversary of the SCO's founding, improve operational mechanisms for the long-term development of the SCO, and ensure the enduring vitality of the SCO family.
