Ambassador Chen Xu, Chair of the 2026 APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting, Wu Meng, Director-General of the International Cooperation Department of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Liu Chenyang, Director of the APEC Study Center at Nankai University, and Zhang Jianping, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce, attended the briefing as guests. The event was moderated by Wang Donghua, Vice President of the China Public Diplomacy Association.

Centering on the theme of “Building an Asia-Pacific Community to Prosper Together” and the three priorities of openness, innovation, and cooperation, the APEC “China Year” will focus on delivering outcomes in areas such as the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific, connectivity, digital economy, and green and inclusive development, pushing APEC cooperation to new heights. Other guests introduced the business sector’s participation in APEC cooperation, shared suggestions on deepening regional economic integration, and expressed their expectations for the APEC “China Year”. The guests also engaged in in-depth exchanges and interactions with journalists on topics including the “China Year” event arrangements, the design of various outcomes, and China’s economy.
