On September 15, 2026, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu attended upon invitation the reception marking the 69th National Day of Malaysia held by the Malaysian Embassy in China, and met with Malaysian Ambassador to China Norman Muhamad.

Miao Deyu congratulated on the National Day of Malaysia. He noted that China and Malaysia are good neighbors, good friends and good partners. Last year, President Xi Jinping paid a historic visit to Malaysia, during which the two sides set the new positioning of a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future. China stands ready to work together with Malaysia to deliver on the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, firmly support each other’s core interests, advance cooperation on major projects, and foster highlights of cooperation in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, so as to take the building of the China-Malaysia community with a shared future to a new level, and deliver greater benefits to the two peoples.

Norman Muhamad said that China is an important strategic partner for Malaysia. The two countries have always respected and trusted each other and pursued mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. Malaysia supports the major visions and initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping. Malaysia is ready to step up coordination with China, jointly act on the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity and the four global initiatives, deepen practical cooperation across various fields, and jointly build an even brighter future for bilateral relations.
