Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang announces:
Upon mutual agreement of China and Africa, the Sherpa Meeting on Implementing Outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Johannesburg Summit will be held in Beijing on July 29. State Council leaders will attend and address the opening ceremony.
The meeting will be attended by ministerial Sherpas in charge of implementing outcomes of the Johannesburg Summit from 52 African member countries of the Forum, African countries' ambassadors in China, as well as members of China's follow-up action committee of the Forum. There will also be facilitating activities including a dialogue between Chinese financial institutions and African attendees, a meeting on China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, a signing ceremony for cooperation agreements, etc..
The Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation was held successfully in Johannesburg in December, 2015. Since then, outcomes of the Forum have been positively implemented and some reaped early harvest. This Sherpa meeting is convened in order to discuss cooperation outcomes, align cooperation approaches with each other, push forward the implementation of the Forum outcomes, and bolster the win-win cooperation and common development of China and Africa.
