President Hu Jintao Appoints New Ambassadors

On January 17 2005,Chinese President Hu Jintao announced the appointment of the following new ambassadors in accordance with a decision made by the National Peoples Congress Standing Committee.

Liu Jian was appointed the new ambassador to Afghanistan, replacing Sun Yuxi.

Sun Yuxi was appointed the new ambassador to India, replacing Hua Junduo.

Fan Guijin was appointed the new ambassador to Uganda, replacing Li Qiangmin.

Li Beifen (female) was appointed the new ambassador to Benin, replacing Wang Xinshi.

Wang Xinshi was appointed the new ambassador to Iceland, replacing Jiang Zhengyun.

Jiang Zhengyun was appointed the new ambassador to Botswana, replacing Lin Difu.

Wang Kaiwen was appointed the new ambassador to Georgia, replacing Xu Jianguo.

Tian Xuejun was appointed the new ambassador to Greece, replacing Tang Zhenqi.

Li Yuanming was appointed the new ambassador to The Bahamas, replacing Jiao Dongcun.

Yin Hengmin was appointed the new ambassador to Peru, replacing Mai Guoyan.
