President Hu Jintao Appoints New Ambassadors

On March 8 2005, President Hu Jintao of the People's Republic of China announced the appointment of the following new ambassadors in accordance with a decision made by the National Peoples Congress Standing Committee.

Lan Lijun was appointed the new ambassador to Indonesia, replacing Lu Shunmin.

Lu Shumin was appointed the new ambassador to Canada, replacing Mei Ping.

Yang Yanyi was appointed the new ambassador to Brunei, replacing Wei Wei.

Li Jianying was appointed the new ambassador to Qatar, replacing Zhao Huimin.

Yang Xiuping was appointed the new ambassador to Lithuania, replacing Chen Yuming.

Zhang Qiyue was appointed the new ambassador to Belgium, replacing Guan Chengyuan.

Dong Jinyi was appointed the new ambassador to Italy and San Marino, replacing Cheng Wendong.
