On 30th March, H. E. Ambassador Xiao Jianguo paid visits to the Seria Chung Ching School and the Sekolah Menengah Chung Hua School respectively. Political Counsellor Wang Haitao of the Embassy accompanied the visits.

Ambassador Xiao spoke highly of the two schools for their dedication to the Chinese education and promotion of traditional Chinese culture in Brunei and congratulated on their achievements in cultivating local elites for Brunei’s development. Ambassador Xiao introduced the Chinese path to modernization and the Global Civilization Initiative (GCI) and said the Embassy will work closely with the Bruneian side to strengthen the people-to-people exchanges, cultural mutual-learning and people-to-people connectivity between the two countries.

The board chairmen and principals of the two schools expressed warm welcome for Ambassador Xiao’s assumption of office, appreciation for the Embassy’s long-term support and assistance to the school’s development, and readiness to make continuous efforts with the Embassy to promote bilateral relations and cooperation especially in the field of people-to-people exchanges.
