On June 7, 2023, Ambassador Hou Yue visited FAFO Institute for Applied Social Science and communicated with Managing Director Ms. Tone Fløtten and other staff.

Ambassador Hou said that FAFO has maintained a friendly relationship with China over the past 30 years, established long-term cooperative relations with Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development, and made valuable contributions to the comprehensive, objective and accurate understanding of China from all sectors of the Norwegian society. It is hoped that FAFO will continue to strengthen research cooperation with China in a wider range of fields inter alia green transition, low-carbon economy, and social security, so as to inject new impetus into the bilateral friendship between China and Norway.

Ms. Fløtten warmly welcomed Ambassador Hou and introduced FAFO's cooperation with China. She said that FAFO has enhanced its understanding of China through field research, and was deeply impressed by China's economic and social development achievements in various fields. FAFO is willing to strengthen academic exchanges with its Chinese counterparts, and contribute its knowledge to focusing on and expanding Norway-China cooperation in areas such as environment and social development.
