On June 14, Ambassador Zhao Weiping hosted a press conference at the Embassy, in which all of the 9 major media agencies in Namibia were represented by their journalists.

Highlighting the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative and Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, as well as China's foreign policy, Amb. Zhao said both China and African countries are developing countries, and China's international initiatives and actions have already benefited and will continue to benefit all developing countries, including those in Africa. Amb. Zhao also presented facts to illustrate the important contribution of Chinese community and enterprises to Namibia's socioeconomic development, and rebut some false allegations on so-called illegal business operation of Chinese citizens. Several Namibian media agencies have published reports or comments on the event.
