Chinese Ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing Attends the “Retrospect and Prospect” China-Samoa Relations and Cooperation Workshop

On 14 May, 2024,Chinese ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing attended “Retrospect and Prospect” China-Samoa Relations and Cooperation Workshop. Hon. Deputy Speaker Auapaau Mulipola Aloitafua, CEO of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Ms. Peseta Noumea Simi, CEO of Ministry of Agriculture and Fishery Dr. Seuseu Joseph Tauati, Police Commissioner Mr. Auapaau Logoitino Filipo, Member of Parliament Mr. Lenatai Victor Tamapua, and former Samoan Ambassador to China H.E. Tapusalaia Terry To'omata, attended the workshop.

Ambassador Fei reviewed with participants the Joint Communique on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Samoa and the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758, emphasizing that the one-China principle is the universal consensus of the international community and the political foundation of China-Samoa relations. China appreciates Samoa’s long-term and firm commitment to the one-China principle and will follow the "Four Full Respects" policy proposed by President Xi Jinping towards Pacific island countries to actively develop bilateral relations and promote practical cooperation in various fields to better benefit the two peoples.

Participants from the Samoan side said that Samoa attached great importance to friendly cooperation with China and would firmly support the one-China principle, work with the Chinese side to elevate the bilateral relations and practical cooperation to a new level.
